Updating Legacy CAMail Configurations

This document covers updating the legacy camail1.harvard.edu and camail2.harvard.edu server names from Eudora, Outlook, and Outlook Express configurations.  In December of 2001, all CAMail server names were merged under the common name camail.harvard.edu.

  1. With Eudora running, click on the Tools menu, and then click on the Options menu item.

  3. Inside the Mail Server (Incoming) field, put the server name camail.harvard.edu inside both fields, if it does not already contain that name.
  4. Inside the SMTP Server (Outgoing) field, put the server name camail.harvard.edu inside both fields, if it does not already contain that name.
  5. Click the OK button.  Your Eudora configuration is now updated!

Eudora – Multiple Accounts

  3. You should now see the Account Settings dialog box for the personality you selected.

Locate the SMTP Server field.  The text inside this field should read camail.harvard.edu.  If it does not, correct the text so that it does.

  5. Locate the Server field toward the top of the dialog box.

The text inside this field should read camail.harvard.edu.  If it does not, correct the text so that it does.
  6. Click the OK button to commit these changes.
  7. Repeat steps 2 through 6 for your other Eudora personalities.
